They claim that the newer the car model is the more difficult is to reveal false mileage.
Although European Union has already given statements regarding second hand cars false mileage re-entering, there have been no changes on new car models and therefore there is no problem in playing with the mileage- German ADAK experts say.
It is said that it has also been confirmed by a latest research.
Three cars have randomly been selected: Ford Kuga form 2019, Opel Grandland X from 2020 an Peugeot 208 from 2019. The results have shown that mileage can be forged even after a few minutes, approaching by a device with no possibilities of later revealing the fraud in the car.
Service books don’t mean a lot because they are being forget too- Geebelen Elen from ADAC explains and mentions that it would be best to buy a car from somebody you know where you can be certain of the mileage.
Rent a car companies and leasing houses are at the top of the list. Their vehicles are well preserved, their interior is good because of no smoking, but the labels form the services and the batteries have been removed and it is very difficult to determine the mileage which is sometimes double than shown.
These sorts of vehicles are offered in auctions and the buyers are most often from the Balkans, The Romanians, The Bulgarians, The Serbians and The Albanians. More than one piece is being bought at once and the documents have been forged with less risk since they are not being prepared for the European Union- Elen says.
In the German Auto club it is said that this is the way around half million cars have been sold aged 2014-2021. If you notice a low vehicle price out of the market price, bear in mind that the car either has a much larger mileage or it has been in a crash, German experts claim.
