On the very first day of The US Open a real marathon match was took place. Tsitsipas managed to beat former World Number One, Andy Murray, in five sets with the result of 2:3 (6:2, 6:7, 6:3, 3:6, 4:6) after having played for four hours and 44 minutes.

The fact that bothered everybody was that Tsitsipas used toilet breaks again in order to avoid the rules which made the British player furious and he accused his opponent of being a cheater.
Murray started the match as a better one and won the first set relatively easy, only to lose in the second one after a difficult tie-break.
Tsitsipas seems to have got used to playing difficult matches lately and he made Murray nervous by his decision to make a seven to eight minutes toilet break.
Here is a quick reminder about the same thing happening in Cincinnati, when he was accused of communicating with his headquarters in such a way that the spectators’ crowd in New York booed him.

- He has been cheating - Murray yelled to his headquarter in the stands.
- The toilet is right there. What do you think he has been doing? I have never in my life made such a long toilet break- the British tennis player yelled to the supervisor, Gary Armstrong. However, according to the rules, Tsisipas is allowed to do so.
- I have lost all respect towards him - Murray said, and added that he would have stated the same if he had won, as well as that the rules were old and it was time they had been updated.
In the second round, Tsitsipas will compete against Mannarino.
