Vučić said that despite the opposition of three countries when it comes to the EU enlargement, the Slovenian delegation proposed that by 2030 all Balkan countries be part of the EU, which was also supported by Sebastian Kurz.
He pointed out that there is a great fight about this, primarily with the three above-mentioned countries, which are openly against enlargement, and there are even more which oppose this idea.
- I think that the European leaders will not be ready to accept that - Vučić said.
The president pointed out that people would have previously seen that as a thing of cataclysmic proportions. Vučić adds that it is important for Serbia to be on the European path, but that we also need to take care of ourselves.
- I think it is important for the EU to receive all of us. Serbia is the most prepared in terms of readiness, especially in terms of economic parameters, we are convincingly the most prepared. But it is a matter of political decision - said Vučić.
He adds that it is important to cooperate with Russia and China, and explained how wrong of a decision it would be if Serbia succumbed to pressure not to build a Russian gas pipeline.
- As far as the cluster is concerned, we accepted everything and worked on it. And what will their relationship with us be? You can't change that. We focus on what we can do - he explained.
As a reminder, President Vučić is on a two-day visit to Slovenia.
As planned, on the first day of his visit, President Vučić attended the Summit of Heads of State and Government from the ranks of the European People's Party. On the second day of the visit, he will participate in the Summit of Leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans, which will be held in Brdo pri Kranju.
