As of January 4, 2022, Air Serbia will start operating the routes of public interest from the Niš Constantine the Great and Kraljevo Morava Airports.
The Serbian national airline will operate scheduled flights between Niš and Belgrade, Istanbul, Frankfurt (Hahn), Cologne and Ljubljana, as well as flights between Kraljevo and Istanbul. The aforementioned routes will operate twice weekly, with the exception of Belgrade - Niš flights, which will be operated four times a week. Tickets are already on sale.
Additionally, seasonal flights on the routes Niš-Tivat and Niš-Athens, as well as Kraljevo-Thessaloniki and Kraljevo-Tivat, will operate during the summer peak season. Flights to the new destinations will run until December 31, 2023, pursuant to a contract awarded in a tender conducted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia for operating the routes of public interest.
- We are happy that we are expanding our offer from South and West Serbia and Šumadija. In this way, we will make it much easier for our passengers to plan their trips, as well as contribute to the strengthening of commercial and tourism activities in these parts of Serbia. For the first time, flights between Niš and Belgrade will be introduced, allowing passengers from South Serbia to travel to other European destinations in Air Serbia’s network via the capital, as the airline’s hub. Additionally, we are very glad that we are connecting Niš with Cologne, our new, fifth destination in Germany - stated Jiří Marek, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
Known for the famous Cologne Cathedral, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as a perfect example of gothic architecture, Cologne represents the fourth biggest city in Germany. The oldest City Hall in the entire country, the Ludwig Museum with hundreds of works of Pablo Picasso, and the lively atmosphere of the Belgian Quarter are just some of the attractions which the city on the Rhine has to offer.
With the introduction of scheduled flights from Niš and Kraljevo to Istanbul, the city on the Bosporus will become the only destination in the Air Serbia network to which flights will be operated from all three airports in Serbia, which will significantly strengthen connectivity with Turkey.
