You will first notice that the brake has frozen if you lower the brake lever without much resistance, or if you feel that the tension in the brake lever has eased.
Most drivers will apply the hand brake when parking. However, many do not have the opportunity to leave the vehicle in the garage on these cold days, while in the open you should count on freezing temperatures.
The cold creates numerous problems for car owners, including more demanding driving conditions and difficulty while starting of the engine if their battery is weak, and due to the frost, the hand brake can freeze, Revija HAK wrires.
Sometimes the hand brake cable will freeze, and the same can happen to the mechanism that keeps the wheels stationary, i.e the parts of the brake itself.

In that case, simply move the vehicle slowly (very slowly), back and forth. Just a few centimetres at a time, to avoid damaging the brake system.
Repeat this several times. If the brake still does not release, locate the extension cord and plug a hair dryer to it. Direct the warm air towards the wheels held by the handbrake - it's usually the rear pair, and that should be enough to loosen it.
