Beijing claims that it will not give in to the pressure of Washington, which it considers "irresponsible" and "futile", Russia Today reports.
Beijing maintains an "independent" stance on war in Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian told a news conference on Friday.
Lijian stated that on the issue of Ukraine, China has always made "independent judgments, based on facts, in an objective and fair way."
The Chinese diplomat also emphasised that the pressure from Washington will not force Beijing to change its position.
He added that some American officials are still trying to spread misinformation regarding China's position - something that Lijian described as irresponsible and does not contribute to resolving the crisis.
The remark came in response to threats from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who warned China on Thursday that Washington would "impose costs" on it if Beijing decided to support Moscow.
