Indonesian President Joko Widodo revealed that he forwarded a message from his Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
On Thursday, Widodo met with the Russian leader in Moscow and conveyed Zelenskyy's message to him, with whom he spoke the prevoius day in Kyiv.
The visit of the Indonesian president to these countries is taking place while war is raging in Ukraine, and in addition, the reason is that Indonesia is presiding over the G20 summit, which will be held in Bali in November.
- I conveyed President Zelenskyy's message to President Putin - Widodo said after the conversation with Putin.
He pointed out that he is "ready to help start communication between the two leaders". Widodo did not disclose details, and neither side said what was in the note.
- Although the situation is still difficult, it is important to move towards a solution and an open dialogue. I call on all world leaders to revive the spirit of cooperation. My country wants this war to end as soon as possible - Widodo said in Moscow.
A day later, the reaction of the Kremlin followed, and the spokesman of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, spoke.
- We are not talking about some kind of written message. That's all I can say on the subject - said Peskov in response to a journalist's question, reports RIA Novosti.
