DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE "GULABI GANG" IS? The members are exclusively women, and here’s how it came to be!

The "Gulabi gang" is also called the "Pink Gang of India", and it is a women's group, which, when it finds out that a woman was beaten by a man in their area, goes to his door and beats him with sticks.

This gang was formed after one woman saw another being beaten on the street and tried to help her, but she was also beaten. The next day, accompanied by five other women, she found the perpetrator and beat him with sticks.

This soon spread throughout India and many women sought help, so a group was formed, called the "Gulabi gang", which fights against all kinds of injustice.

The mission of the "Pink Gang" is to stop child marriages, fight for girls' education, train self-defense for women, stop corruption in the system, report against rapists and violent husbands, publicly name and show sexual assailants, as well as encourage women to gain financial independence.
