A year ago, today, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood officially came out in the U.S. ! In honor of today’s date, here are some hidden secrets and fun facts Tarantino decided to include for Sharon’s fans: -The pictures in Sharon’s Cielo Drive home: In a couple of scenes from the movie, that take place in Sharon and Roman’s house, you can spot portraits of the real life couple (swipe). I included them in the first three slides of the post. -When Cliff remembers his experience on set with Bruce Lee, he’s consuming a dairy product from the brand Carnation, probably making reference to the pictures of Sharon with the Carnation product in hand on the set of The Wrecking Crew. -Tribute to Sharon’s achievements as an actress: In one of the scenes where Margot as Sharon is walking around her house, you can spot three movie posters in which Sharon had starred in, Don’t Make Waves, The Fearless Vampire Killers and Eye of the Devil. -Book: When Margot runs some errands on a typical sunny LA evening, she enters a bookshop where she asks for the book Tess of the D'urbervilles. Real-life Sharon, in 1969, left a copy of this book to Roman right before heading to the USA, suggesting it would make a good movie. Years later, Roman finally turned Sharon’s suggestion into a movie. -Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol: In one of the few scenes we got to see Emile Hirsch, he’s wearing the Ankh Jay Sebring would always wear and used as a signature logo for his haircare products. He had also given one to Sharon during their relationship back in 1964-5. -Bruce Lee and Sharon: For the preparation of the fight scene in the movie The Wrecking Crew, Sharon was given martial art lessons by Bruce Lee in her Summitridge Drive home in 1968. When Margot in the movie proudly watches the fight scene, she recalls those lessons with Lee.
