The government of Singapore has made a decision that unvaccinated patients who become infected with the Coronavirus will no longer be able to get treated at the expense of the state, but will have to bear the costs themselves.

- Currently, the unvaccinated represent the majority of persons who are in intensive care. They contribute to the burden on our health resources. Because of that, from 8 December, we will start charging patients for the costs of their hospital treatment, and this applies to those who do not want to get vaccinated of their own free will - it is stated in the announcement of the government.
Those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, as well as children under the age of 12, will still be able to get treated at the expense of the state in case of illness.
With this measure, the Singapore authorities want to encourage the vaccination of citizens, which has stopped, and at the same time the daily number of new cases is growing.
