Priština is looking for URGENT NATO MEMBERSHIP! They are using their fear of Russians as an excuse for a permanent base of American forces in Kosovo

Mehaj also called on NATO members who do not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo to do so.

He claims that the establishment of the American base is necessary in order to guarantee peace, security and stability in the Western Balkans and beyond.

Mehaj used the new reality after the Russian operation in Ukraine as an explanation for the call to speed up the process of NATO membership, as well as its, as he stated, reflection in the general security environment of the Western Balkans, Europe and the world. 

- I urge our allies and NATO members who are reluctant to recognise Kosovo's independence to avoid any further hesitation - Mehaj wrote on Facebook and Kosovo online reported.
